Unit 5- Contribute to Good Working Relationships

1.1 - Identify key roles and tasks in the production process.

1.2 - Outline how to clarify, agree and revise working arrangements in a way which promotes good working relationships.

Core workers. These are full-time employees.

Peripheral workers. These are part-time and other workers with flexible working arrangements who are on the payroll of a company.

External workers. External workers do not work directly for a company.
When working for a company this is agreed at the start of your contract so both you as the employee and the employer know what to expect when it comes to working.
So to summarise you will usually agree and clarify your working arrangements when you get offered a position. This in time could be revised during appraisals depending on how well it is working and if you have any needs or the company may want to change your contract whatever the circumstance may be.

2.1 - Explain the importance of balancing the needs of tasks and people.

it is very important to balance out your needs, tasks and people, the key to all of this is good time keeping. You need to keep clients happy and make them come back and spread the work, its good customer service. If you plan it all out and have designated time for each client and and use you time effectively then i all should fit into place.

2.2 - Explain the importance of sharing information with colleagues.

it is very important to share information with colleagues to gain information about a company, client or even a specific project for example you could be doing a design for a client and they have sent a colleague a brief and you are the only one working to that brief it is wise to share the information because you more likely to hit the brief.

2.3 - Identify ways of tactfully requesting others to change working arrangements to improve own productivity.

I good example of someone changing their working arrangements to improve their own or someone else’s productivity is where an external worker will come into the office to work in house for a couple of days. This helps to improve productivity on a project because all the people involved with that particular project can liaise and discuss options easily rather than emailing back and forth.
The best way that this can be approached is by asking the person in question. This is both polite and hopefully will not cause any conflict.

2.4 - Describe how to explain own decisions clearly and constructively.

This is something i have a lot of experience in, Other parts of my lifestyle also mean that I have to make decisions, stick by my decisions and then convey that to a person of higher authority so that my actions were appropriate to the circumstance. When in these situations I find that the key to explaining your own decisions is to be confident about why you made that choice.

2.5 - Describe how to resolve conflict situations or dissatisfaction.

2.6 - Explain the importance of liaison with colleagues to productivity.
